Hello,
Let me begin by saying that Eblah is exactly what I need fofr my (large) family's website.
I installed the scripts methodically as per the instructions (I think).
CHMOD'd correctly (I hope).
Cannot get Setup.pl to work
Get the following message:

Premature end of script headers: /home/mysite/public_html/cgi-bin/forum/Setup.pl
File does not exist: /home/mysite/public_html/500.shtml

Blah.pl at least tries to work, but not Setup.pl.

Thank you.

Have CHMOD'd Setup.pl to 755. No cigar. Thanks for the reply, though.

Did you upload in Auto mode or ANSCII mode?  Try to upload Setup.pl again in ANSII only mode and double check your chmod settings one more time and see if it runs.

If it still doesn't work, you could always PM me your ftp info and I can try to install it.  Or at least the web address would help

The file is located at: lesters-thats.us/cgi-bin/forum/Setup.pl
If I access the file at my site via IE7 browser, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.
If I click on the file through the Cpanel, I get the following message:

Setup has determined that you must manually edit the paths to Settings.pl or other core files. If you need help, contact E-Blah technical support.

The following may help you figure out what your paths are:
Document Root: $ENV{'DOCUMENT_ROOT'}
Script name: $0
File(s) Not Loaded: $tempreturn
Reason for failure: $!
EOT footer(); } sub SetupLoad { eval { require($_[0]) }; if($@) { if($_[1]) { $tempreturn .= $_[0].', '; return(0); } inst_error(qq~Fatal Error in loading: $_[0]

$@~); } else { return(1); } } sub UFS { my($query); @url = split(/\//,$ENV{'QUERY_STRING'}); foreach (@url) { ($action,$actiondo) = split(/-/,$_); $URL{$action} = $actiondo; } read(STDIN, my $temp, $ENV{'CONTENT_LENGTH'}); @pairs = split(/&/,$temp); foreach (@pairs) { ($key,$content) = split(/=/,$_); $content =~ tr/+/ /; $content =~ s/%(..)/pack("c",hex($1))/ge; $key =~ tr/+/ /; $key =~ s/%(..)/pack("c",hex($1))/ge; chomp($content); $FORM{$key} = $content; } } sub inst_error { header('Fatal Error'); print <<"EOT";

Thanks again for any advice.

Also if you have it delete the .htacess file, this may cause a problem. You could also try and edit the setting file by hand.
http://www.lesters-thats.us/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl shows that eblah is working.

Nat,
   The Setup.pl file has beeb uploaded in ASCII and CHMOD'd to 755 countless times. The htaccess file has also been deleted.
Is there something in the Settings.pl file that I need to edit? I'm thinking along the lines of the following:

# What is the directory that Settings.pl is located in?
$root = ".";

Thanks again for your help.

Ok, maybe it would help if I posted this from my error log:

Try changing it to .cgi instead of .pl.  Also, try changing the first line of Setup.pl to #!/usr/local/bin/perl

How are you uploading this file?  Via FTP?

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Hello again, Justin,
Did as you suggested.
Uploaded in ASCII, CHMOD 755.
Same results with Setup.cgi as Setup.pl.
