Selected Text Areas Are Not Recognized

I am currently using Konqueror Web Brower running on
Linux Defender Live! (Kanotix) This is a seldom used
browser which seems to have a minor glitch with the forum

The text formatting buttons dont function correctly
on this platform at all, placeing the [ b ][ /b ]
in a group at the end of the written text, even if
the text is preselected and highlighted.

Im not sure wether it would require adjustments
to Konqueror to fix this, or wether the site scripts
could be modified so they recognize selected text
using the Konqueror web browser.

I realize also, that on a security based OS it may
be possible that websites are prevented from seeing
which text is selected by the user. In that case
the formatting buttons would only work after some
sort of permissions change.

Just wondering.. the buttons work great but everything
goes to the end of the message

That is how it was set up to work if the browser cannot place the selected text between the tags.

Thanks Justin, I believe it may be the browser also. It was on a
Live CD so it defaults to the same settings on each boot, discarding
any changes made to the current OS.

I have another machine running Avant which, no matter what I do
whitepages me on the p2 logon, but logs me in anyway..lol I know
its the browser, but it only does it on my forum and only with that
copy of Avant. Using an XP2 machine, it works with the same browser

It amazes me how well this site looks and works in firefox
I have placed a few ads in my Forum for eblah, and a link
in the chat download area. Id like to donate too! It's a really
good forum, and its nice you guys could share it with everyone

Thanks for looking into it, I will try several versions of konqueror
on my own forum to see what happens. The OS was a special
purpose boot CD created from an ISO file at BitDfender. Someone
actually took the time to to dedicate a Linux OS to repairing both
windows NT and fat32 disks *chuckles*
