Hi Martin,

Top job there, I would vote for this to be a full mod for the forums. Its alot quicker than the html 1 and smoother to run.

Guests cant log onto chat as you just block them from going to that area (like martin did on the tester) so it works for members only its great!

I have the mod just about finished, you can turn Guest access on and off in the Admin Center - Main Preferences

If you want to try it:

Username: Test
Password: test

or

I really like this style of chat room but I think there are "fors" and "againsts" for both html & IRC

We use Martins html chat on my forum at the moment and it gets lots of use every day. I love the fact it's our own little chat room with colours and theme to match the rest of the forum and Martin created a mod to show who's chatting without actually having to enter (great job Martin). Downside to this chat room is you often get white screens and have to keep refreshing the page, especially on older PC's, in fact I have a couple of members who aren't able to use the chat room at all.

This IRC chat room looks great and seems to run a lot smoother however I'm not keen on all the different rooms etc ... I don't personally want members just using my site as a doorway to go off chatting in various other places if that makes sense   The idea for us is that it's just somewhere where our own members can chat between themselves

I have to be honest.  I have checked that site 3 times now, and can find on IRC chat function.  Am I missing something?
