Thanks! I knew that was there somewhere, but I couldn't find it, no matter what I looked for!

On the same note of 'variables', what do I put in the place of text (for a Category title) if I want to have an image displayed instead?

Rather, if the board is currently something like this:

1. AREA 1

  General Lounge

  Members Only

2. AREA 2

  Art

  Politics

And, as all of those listings display as text to visitors, what do I change in the Admin area (presumably in the Forum categories area) to turn "AREA 1", "AREA 2", etc., into a .jpeg or .gif? Is there some format (href or img src, perhaps) that can replace the text?

Thanks.

I'd go <img src="http://www.Your_URL.com/yourpic.gif" border="0" /> for the name. That might work. Might. I haven't tried it. I know that you can set the size of a board image by settng it as

Code
blah.gif" width="128

Thanks, I shall try that. I know I forgot to put the slash before the ending bracket (/>), so maybe that's why it had not worked before. It's been awhile since I used E-Blah, and I downloaded the latest version after so long and have been redoing my board (also didn't help that I lost my backup, so I couldn't check previous incarnations). I'll try again this evening.

Okay, that didn't work, after all.

I wish I knew what I did before. Heh.

I'm in the Admin Control area, where one is to 'Edit Boards And Categories', and I placed the <img src="http://localhost/miniART.jpg" /> tag into the place where, normally, text goes for the title of the category. All it does is display exactly the above html code, without finding and putting the image in place.   And I really could have sworn this is what I did before to get graphical titles showing up. Would seem ripe for all kinds of cool board mods--from animated gifs and so on.

If anybody has another idea, please post here and let us all know.

I thought about the CSS stuff ($title, and so forth) but the thing is, I want to be able to put a different image in place of each category title, not the same image for each one (as I think the $title string would do). The only other alternative is to make it html, but I'm not sure how complex that might get beyond the initial front page of the forum.

Huh? He wants a picture as a board/category name, not a link.

Yeah, graphical images instead of the textual category titles.

Like, if on this E-Blah forum, instead of "E-Blah Discussion" (which is where this thread is found, under 'Themes and Images'), what would you do if you wanted to make that "E-Blah Discussion" more than just text? If you wanted to make a graphical image (.jpg or .gif) appear there, in the place of that text, and that image show up every place the normal textual category title would show up.

There's a place in the Admin area to type in "E-Blah Discussion" for the category title. Is that also the place to put something like an image source tag? Like "http://E-BlahDiscussion.jpg" ?

As previously posted, I did try such a thing, even with the ending tag like this: />, but it didn't work. So I'm thinking there must be a different way to call up a graphic there.

As an afterthought on the same subject here, the forum categories have a little RSS Feed graphic that shows up--only, I assume, it's in a separate data cell just prior to the text I'm talking about replacing with a graphic. How does that little graphic show up there, with regard to the board settings? Because that'll perhaps offer a clue to how one might get the next data cell to display a graphic. (the only thing, of course, is that the RSS Feed graphic is the same at every category, and I'm looking to have a different graphic for each category title). I thought I'd add this to help flesh out what I'm seeking. Not looking to replace the RSS Feed graphic, just to fill in the next cell with a graphical title.
