This is still up in the air, but in the next few days the nightlies may stop working until I get an upgrade/installer script built.

I've started moving things over to MySQL, which hopefully I'll be able to finish with no problem.  I've been working on it for a good part of today and I've a good deal of the Members and boards sections moved over to the database.  I've started work on the post sections, so that'll take time.  As of now, only member data is actually working with being able to read/write to the users (that's because it's all centralized).

Right now I'm not stressing so much "speed" with the database backend, but more just trying to get it moved over.  It may take some time and I may just find it's too big of a challenge, but I'm going to attempt to try it.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

I hope you'll still have the option of flatfiles! I don't have the ability to use MySQL.

It may not be RIGHT AWAY but I plan on making it where you can use sqlite, which does not use a database, but rather a file.  There's a DBI driver for it in Perl.  It's supposed to have good speed and all too, while also allowing me to use SQL.

I've got a lot of progress down.  As of now E-Blah 11 can do the following:

- Posting
- Editing
- Marking threads as read (not near complete)
- Registering
- Modifying profile data
- Logging in

It's by no means even close to an alpha stage yet.  I've attached what I have so far in case anyone wants to test it out.  It comes with an SQL file that has all of my test stuff.  Open Blah.pl and edit the things to match your MySQL server.

I've got it installed there.  Most stuff doesn't work right now, so don't expect much as of yet.

Feel free to register and post though.

The nightlies aren't going to be upgraded anymore expect minor stuff.  All my time with E-Blah will be devoted to the SQL version.  If there's anything posted to the nightlies though, it should be safe to use unless you see anything that says SQL.
