I have had this happen to another member hosted with Heartinternet and it was a space issue.

It is hard to explain but I will try.

You are allocated 50000 MB on a virtual server, there are also say, 10 other users who are allocated 50000 MB each, that's 500000 MB in total. What Justin is saying is that the hosting server has run out of space so it can't allocate each person their quoted 50000 MB as there maybe only 4000000 MB of space on the server.

In this particular instance, the server ran out of space because the backup files were not moved off the host server and took up the other 1000000 MB of space.

Yes, that is what the quota's are set for, and that is what the log files are telling you, but what it is not telling you is that the sever farm's hard drives may have reached their maximum capacity.  You need to ask your host to check the server farm that you are virtually hosted on and see if it has run out of space.

On 2007-05-03 22:28:28, Paul Mellors changed the ticket status to CLOSE-PENDING and wrote:

Hello Ajex

Thanks for your ticket

I've had a look at your account and you're certainly not running out of disk space, i suspect the issue lies elsewhere.

If it is doing that, then you are probably using a version older than 10.2, as 10.2 (or 10.2.5, forgot what one) fixes that.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Justin I have found a MaxMember.Count file in my members folder. I have an issue with files being renamed to numbers e.g. 1001.dat and 1001.log. If I increase the MaxMember.Count file to say 3000 will that help with the issue?

That is just the log of the max number of users on line at one time...so no, it won't help.

i have a new problem related to this. in addition to losing members, basically anyone trying to login at the moment, i have lost a whole board's worth of messages.

i have a backup, but can't do anything at the moment because as quick as i upload my backup dat file, it zeros out again.

i have taken to doing daily backups since having this problem, so haven't lost too much data, but losing a board of messages is new! i really hate computers sometimes.....

i'm using cobian backup directly to my computer - not the built in one, so that's not the problem..... i was wondering if there is software to backup without human intervention, because i'm on holiday in a couple of weeks....

If it does it with messages it's either space issues or some other issue related to their server.
