i believe this is a bug, because i have two forums and they both experience the same thing
i have been using a theme with alternative base images, and when i switched to another theme, the base images do not change back to the default.  i have tried un-ticking the alternate base image before switching themes as well with no luck.  i have verified that the correct images are in the image directory.  i tried switching to the xtheme.  if i right click on a board image and check the url of the image, it shows the url to the theme directory that is no longer the default.  it is not switching back to the main base image directory.

here are two screen shots...the first with the xmas theme using alternate base images, the second with a black theme supposed to be using default base images.  as you can see in the second screenshot, the url to the image is still set to the xmas theme, but alternate base images is NOT selected in the black theme.

i have tested this on two seperate forums, one running 12/18/06 and one running 12/19/06 nightlies, both with same results.

it appears as though when i enabled alternate images in the theme, it changed the default image directory in the main directory settings, but it did not change back when you deselect alternate images.  i was able to fix it by manually resetting the default image directory in admin/settings back to '/blahdocs/images'
