I have just tried to move a few posts from one section to another and the screen froze. Then when I refreshed it made 9 pages dissapear and replaced them with 10 pages of the same message.

So I tried to delete the first page of them and they all vanished except 2 pages of them.

I cannot find the original 9 pages of posts but when I go to the section I was trying to move them to the duplicated messages are there on around the first 12 pages!

HELP???

Its happened again. I tried to move a couple of messages from one section to another and now I have hundreds of them in there duplicated from the same message.

I tried to move a couple of messages from the lounge called joe bloggs and send them into the bar. No the bar is flooded with 14 pages of the joe bloggs message and the lounge has gone crazy too.

I have not tried moving anything since the last time this happened so it obviously is a problem.

Can you please help as soon as possible?

Are you going to "All" threads view, and then checking them all and moving them?

How are you moving them?  What did Martin do the first time?  Were the messages recovered?  If you have any backups, it'd be good if you could e-mail me the backup (you could exclude the members directory).  I'll try to duplicate and fix it if it is indeed a bug, which I think is the case and I think it's probably an easy fix ...

Martin used my previous backup which unfortunately was a month old so we lost over 500 messages. My last backup was yesterday so not too bad. He could not fix the problem as far as I know so he just loaded the last backup.

All I did was check 3 messages that I wanted to move from one forum section to another then it all went crazy like it did before.

I have no idea how to send you the back up but i will send you my ftp details via pm in case you can help at all.

Hmmm, okay.  Were you viewing all threads or just one page of them?

Somethings different with your setup, because I've tested it and haven't been able to duplicate it yet.  I have your backup and will test it though and try to solve it as soon as I can.

This does have the highest priority on my list right now, so I should look at it before I do anything else (editing E-Blah wise).

I've started looking into this, and there is a bug; however, I'm not sure what's causing it yet.  So far it's something related to your Settings.pl file.  I'm going to be trying to narrow it down and get a fix out within a few minutes or hours, unless it's because of a mod you have installed.

Figured it out, I believe. It's caused by the news boards trying to be rebuilt.  That is causing errors.  I'll try to push a fix out shortly.

Upgrade to 10.2 to fix it.  I'll get a patch out and post it on the news board for those with 10.2 in a few minutes ...
