Awhile back In this thread I asked if there was any mods for a file archive system in E-Blah, and apparently there isn't one.

So now, almost a year later, after building my site around E-Blah as it's portal, I'm looking for another download manager/library to build a Ti calculator program archive for my site at http://www.bluecrimson.com. This time, I'm more interested in a seperate web application. I've looked at RW Download and Cfiles which have the features I would like to have (file ratings/comments as well as report a file and upload management to avoid FTP usage) but require SQL, which my host is not keen to giivng out for free. E-dir could work, but it lacks the rating system I would like to have, as well as uploading capabilities.

So, has anyone in the vast E-Blah community used anything similar to these above apps that uses a flat file database? Do they even exist? I really don't care if it uses PHP or perl, but I don't have the SQL database to spare for any of the programs I've ran into so far. File ratings would be nice and commenting would be ideal. File uploading by administrators of the system would also be nice but not exactly critical since I can FTP into the site. If it integrates with the E-Blah login that would also be a huge plus. I would like for it to also have it's own page generaton, that way I don't have to make a site full of links that I would need to update every time to add new files or functionality.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you looked at the CGI/PHP script index?

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Yep. thats where I found some of the above scripts I listed.

It seems most of the stuff in the index has to do with either hiding the file, prevent leeching or count how many times it's been downloaded. a very few collect ratings and comments, and the ones that do require SQL.
