Justin:

I am using an old version. 6.0 I believe. I had paid you to help me set this up and you were great.  I just tried to give myself/admin permission to upload files.  The program did not let me upload. I then went back in to admin and checked the server box and typed in the extensions that I wanted ("bmp", "jpg").  When I did that it crashed the program and I can't get back in.  Can you help? The error I recieved is:

Software error:

syntax error at c:/cbuilder/cgi-bin/blah/Settings.pl line 65, near ""("bmp"
Compilation failed in require at C:\Cbuilder\cgi-bin\blah\Blah.pl line 27.

For help, please send mail to this site's webmaster, giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

I will attempt to attach the file Settings.pl.  I downloaded it from my server.

I have gotten the program backup and set it to accept from admin 'bmp, gif, jpg'.  When I try to upload, by browsing, to get a jpg file from nmy c drive I get the following error.

Justin:

I am trying to use the jpg.  I changed the setting to accept all extensions.  I still can't get it to add my attachment.  I beleive that I am using build 5.0.  Unlike your board I have the browse button by the attach files, but not the attach and add more button. Here is the link to my attempt at posting.

Why would that be?  It is my server and I have used attachments before.  Would a new upgrade help?

Hmm.  Attachments with E-Blah?  Make sure that your uploads directory is CHMODed 777.

Also, you really should upgrade, though it'd be a pretty major upgrade if you are still on version 5.  If it's 9.5, then you should be good.  But if it's 9.6, I would upgrade to Platinum 8, and then do an upgrade to 10.0 (as the upgrade was written for users with Platinum 8 or higher).  There are MANY new bug fixes between the versions, which is enough that it should make you want to upgrade.  That and P5 is around 2 to 3 years old now.

Justin:

I have an NT server not a Unix.  I am not sure how that your program adapts to NT in terms of attachments.

If that's the case, make sure the uploads directories permissions are set correctly.
