YAY! If we are upgrading from 10.05, do we just upload blah.pl and the code folder, or are there other things?

Everything in the documentation.

With this release there's a few new images too.  If you are using 10.05 you don't *need* to run Setup.pl, but I recommend doing so just to be in the habit of doing so.

After an easy upgrade to 10.1 I have a suggestion.

It used to be applicable only to the % Word-Hits box that appeared in the left of the individual message header after a search, but it now appears in the Recent Posts - Unread Posts box that sits in the right of the forum title bar, and in the forum board index bar that appears at the bottom of a board, showing the Display: New Posts Only | All Threads | Unread Posts options.

The problem is that the background colour is defined by win2, so is the same colour as the message box, also defined by win2. Unfortunately, the areas where where the features appear have their background colour set by win3, so the text of these features floats in a contrasting box, instead of appearing to be part of the header or footer area they sit within.

It's almost unnoticeable in this forum, as the two colours are similar, but in my own, the message (win3) is near white, and the header/footer are dark grey (win2), so the text appears disconnected on a near white background in and otherwise grey bar.

Apologies if the intent is to use the contrasting background as a highlight, but it doesn't look right to my eye.

The new features (and fixes) are detailed in the ChangeLog.txt file that comes with the 10.1 download

Did the upgrade . . . everything seems to be working fine, but my portal is messed up.  The docs say I need to rebuild, but I can't even remove a module.  I click on the 'X' to remove a module, I get the popup window that warns me about this, I press OK, but the modules are not moved.  This is a Windows install - is it a permissions thing?  Thanks in advance.  Trouinky

Hmm?   Take a screen shot, if you can, and let me look at it.

trouinky -- try deleting PortalSet.pl in the Prefs directory.  Then go and add the modules.  See if that works.  If it doesn't, it may be a permission issue on the Prefs directory.

So I was having a continuing problem with my host not being secure and my static pages being embedded with trojans and porno spam, so I decided yesterday to migrate the Board to a new host.  So I'm working on it last night, I come to eblah.com to download a few things, and I see the update that wasn't there just a few minutes earlier!  So what the heck, my Board was down so I might as well update too!  It went very smoothly and everything seems to be working great!

Sounds like someone was running an insecure script on your server.

I believe so.  I was pretty sure that it wasn't me though. It wasn't so much that it happened, but that my host wasn't resolving it.  I made my first complaint a month ago.  Since then I've deleted viruses and embedded spam daily.  At least 3 of my users had to reformat and reinstall a OS their own computers because of picking up the infection.  It was a bad deal.

Here's a series of captures showing the display when win2 is set to the normal near white message area, and the last one when I modify the CSS to have win2 the same colour as win3. While it 'fixed' the option background, it also resulted in the message background taking on the same colour:

It looks fine to me.  You can change those by editing the files, but I think it looks good myself.
