i havnt installed the chat feature as yet  but i was wondering if you can limit user groups on it so that it can be limited to admin/mods for team perposes?

I could probably mod it for you, very busy at the moment so pm me in a week to remind me.

Hi Justin, i see alot of people talking about a chat for the forum, but can´t find any place in your great site where i can download it, isn´t it there anymore? could be great having it on my forum to

can you guide me trou where i can find it? cant se it at all   can´t find the poll function to, where can i find that   have been trou the hole forum without finding it though (sorry for my bad english, but im danish). and im working on a danish translation of the forum to, hope to have it ready in arround 14 days max if all goes well   and will return to this forum and hear then where to upload it to.

To enable polls you need to go to the Admin Center - Boards and Categories

Click on each board that you want to enable polls on and then tick the box in the security settings for who you want to be able to start polls.

Thanx alot for the help.. found it   also found the chat mod, and it works after a bit of coding in each file, it could´t fint the settings.pl in each file so had to set it manualy, but works fine after that was done.. and have to say, its a great work you have done both with the forum and that chat mod.. ill send the danish translation for the forum as soon as i have it ready (working on it)

installed the 10.x chat mod, but it plays the 'good morning vietnam' every 5 secs. at every page refresh.  can that be stopped without turning it off alltogether?

Post a reply, it plays until someone replies after you have entered.

Open the chat and just post Hello or a smilie.

Been looking at the chat solution; not too keen on the frames and the slow reload. Would it be possible for someone (with greater knowledge of eblah than me) to mod an ajax type chat.

I've been looking at this one http://www.alilg.com/software/download/alitalk.html seems to have imports from vbulletin, phpbb, and other forum member db's.

This is a PHP + ASP based chat program. Not all members have PHP and ASP on their host servers.  This is the reason I created the chat in perl, members had to have cgi scripting on their host or they wouldn't have E-Blah.
It was also a lot easier to intergrate it into the forum login and themes.

In regard to the import of user DB's: vBulletin, IPB, MyBB, PHPBB, Joomla and SMF
these are all PHP/MySQL based forums.

martin did you ever get round to modding the chat feature so that only sertain members groups can access it matey ? i havnt installed the chat yet as i only want it for team meetings really

Hi Martin,

We've installed the E-Blah Forum Software at our website (www.themerlingroup-inc.com) ... and are now adding:
1) E-Blah Chat, and
2) an E-Blah plugin (written by CGI-Central)

Followed all the E-Blah Chat installation instructions but couldn't locate the following file ... chat-template.html ... in the downloaded E-Blah Chat zipped file. This file is referred to in the following installation instructions included in the zipped files, "Copy the chat folder to your public_html in BINARY and chmod chat-template.html to 666." Can you please advise us about this particular file?

Regarding  the E-Blah plugin, the following message was emailed to CGI-Central today. We are presently awaiting a response ... but any insights that you may have would certainly also be helpful.
