For those interested I have found this free backup software.

It runs on your local PC and backs up your forum via ftp.

Very easy to setup and schedule backups.  I've been running it for a week now with out a problem, 2am on the dot off it goes and backs up and then downloads it to my local PC.

It is capable of full, incremental and differential backups and can be scheduled to run daily weekly or when ever you want. It also supports compression
