I've found that a new member signing up doesnt have to go through the email validation stage to post on the forum, with the email validation required in the settings. The new user doesnt have access to pms or his member center, but still can create new topics or post to existing ones!

When the unvalid new member signs in it gives his member number, 'Welcome 718' instead of his screen name; but that aside the member should be able to sign in should he?

Change your board permissions to disallow validating users to post in the boards.

ah, I'd read that as Validated users...lol

Just another quickie; when a user removes, or is removed from the forum now, their screen name is replaced by their number on their posts which are still on the site; just looks like the member has changed their name to newbie users.

Yeah, that's an issue I've tried sorting already, but utterly butchered.  I've still got to sort it out sometime.    The best way to not have that happen is to disable users from deleting themselves.

Just found this; in the admin area, click the link for reported pms, a list comes up, click one of the pms, just a blank screen. All the same no matter if they were from before or after my ungrade to 10. Tried re-uploading the admin.pl files, didnt make any difference. Is this just a problem on my forum?

Where can I find the files to view them in the mean-time?

Umm, check the prefs directory for the PM related file.  That's all I know.    I'm not sure what's wrong with it, as I've not looked at it yet.

Fixed.  Report.pl, remove:

Code
		CoreLoad('PM');
		PMCODE();
