Hi I have just followed the instructions for the new chat mod I did not have these entries in my setting.pl 1. $chatURL = " http://www.yoursite.com/chat";2. $chatIndexpath="/your chat location"; 3. $blahURL = "/your Blah root"; So i added them (changing the paths of course) I could not find chat-template.html in the chat folder ? Went to do a test install it made no modifications ? Sorry to be a pain. John B |

That's because it's chat-settings.pl

You probably didn't upload the mod in ASCII, if it is uploaded in BINARY you will end up with an empty mod so there wouldn't any changes. Does all seem to be working ok now? Because, if you added those 3 variable settings to Settings.pl and not chat-settings.pl then it won't work. I can install it if you get stuck. |

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I'm having similar problems.
In the chat folder, there is NO chat-template.html. There is chat.hml and chat.txt, but that's it. I even did a search to see if I was going crazy and I can't find it.
I think I did everything else correctly, it said the install was successful, but I don't see anything anywhere - isn't there supposed to be a chat button? |

What version of E-Blah are you running and what version of the chat did you install?
I suspect that you didn't upload the mod in ASCII as there should be a button. |

I'm using version 10 and I installed 10.
I used fetch to upload which chooses the mode automatically - I'll try it again.
But what about chat-template.html? |

I re-uploaded manually choosing to upload in text rather than auto, clicked install again and now it seems to be working.
Thanks!
