Where do I need to place the CSS for a coloured scrollbar? I've tried it in the theme template before the </head> tag, and I've tried it in the main theme CSS, but it's not showing I'm okay with it meaning my code won't validate, but I'm just not sure why it isn't working...

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear it.

I'm not sure because I never use it, but I'm pretty certain you have to define another body css tag just for the scrollbar.

body {
scroll stuff here
}

I currently have this:

Code
body {
scrollbar-face-color: #9C6B98;
scrollbar-track-color:  #B272A6;
scrollbar-arrow-color:  #EED2EE;
scrollbar-highlight-color:  #EED2EE;
scrollbar-3dlight-color:  #EED2EE;
scrollbar-shadow-color:  #8B3A62;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:  #543948;
}

in the main CSS, but it isn't working. I'm not too good with CSS, so it was a bit hit and miss to begin with

Did you do a CTRL+F5 or SHIFT+F5 to make sure you have the latest CSS?

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Nah, I'm using Opera, but scrollbars work in it usually. It's not a big problem, really; it's just the perfectionist part of me saying it is No one's said anything but me, though.

I thought it was an IE only thing too?  Hmmm.

I think we posted at the same time, lol. Anyway, yeah, coloured scrollbars don't work in Firefox, but they do in Opera and higher versions of IE (I only have IE 5, I think, and they don't work in that.)

I thought they worked in 5?  Maybe it was 5.5?  I remember thinking it was the coolest thing back in like 2000 ... or was it 1999.

I've fallen in love with Opera, heh. It runs better on my computer (Windows '98 ) than IE or Firefox have. Plus, neither of those ever showed coloured scrollbars on this computer, and Opera does.

Though *opens up IE to test* I can't figure out how to tell what version it is. It definitely doesn't show coloured scrollbars, though. Would that be 4? I don't remember the last time I downloaded a new version

*is OT*

4? I think that is well dead, I would say 5, maybe 5.5

In IE click on Help and then About and it will give you the version number.

There is a way of doing this dynamically but intergrating it into the forum would be a nightmate.

It's 5, apparently. But it's not showing coloured scrollbars in sites which I know have them.

And really, it's it going to be more trouble than it's worth, I'll live with it. I thought it was possible because HPR has it, but it's no big deal. I just wanted to bring it in with my theme, but as I said it's really my problem, since no one else has said anything. Colour me neurotic
