Here's the new setup for P9.81 (from the pit).

It uses AJAX now ... which will make it upgrade IN FIVE STAGES.  The actual upgrade page will probably have some weird formatting (as I've not finished the front end, really).  It should work fine though.  Make sure that when you upgrade you WAIT until it tells you upgrade is finished ...

The install front end should be finished (and it looks so much prettier, if I might add ).

If you have ANY issues, post them here so I can fix them ...

NOTE: This will be in TONIGHT'S nightly.  The next nightly release will PROBABLY be XHTML Transitional (not tonights), so it'll need extensive testing and there will be problems.  After the formatting problems are resolved, I'll be able to fix the rest of the bugs and add a few last minute features before release ... still no word on that date though .

I think I missed something here, just used the script on my old forum as I am thinking of using it for something else and I cannot sign in, I looked at the members folder and the dat file no longer has the members name, just e-mail and pass info, etc.

The shout that martin installed has rows of errors in place of the users name.

Post a sample .dat file.

Also, I should have said to be sure to BACK UP.  As there may STILL be issues.

It should work fine.  Make sure you uploaded the new Code and Language directories and the new Blah.pl.  This setup looks correct.  Your mod will probably NOT work, however.

I think Martin has a bit of the answer to this, no doubt he will contact you, it seems that the chmod settings are changed with the update script.

CHMOD has nothing to do with it ... you were upgraded correctly.

Kenny has 2 forums on the site, the forum he attempted to upgrade changed all files to 700 and the Members and Prefs folders to 777. His host does not use 777 but 755.

This was the only folder structure that had changed so it had to be the setup that done it.

Setup can change chmods, yes.

Here's a cleaner front-ended version of the upgrade script ...

It'll do everything behind the scenes now, so you see a nice, clean, version.
