I am sorry to inform those who knew him here, that Wynand Rossouw, aka SonnyZA, passed away yesterday morning. I do not have details.

Most of us knew he was suffering. Some of us knew that the gregarious person who would be a respectful friend to anyone did so despite an unceasing struggle with severe pain and was unable to leave his bed.

I don't think many knew how close the time was. I think he knew. I don't think he wanted us to know. The value of life, friendship and sharing was dearest to him and his hallmark.

Sonny worked for friendship in divisive times, for humor and adventure in the face of suffering and for possibilities in everything around him.

Sonny was one of those people I really trusted and liked to see around here.  I don't think I knew (or it escaped me) that he was suffering from something.  I hope his family is blessed by the outpouring of love and support from around the world.

Sonny became a good friend, we corresponded via email and help each other no end. He never told me that he was suffering and always seemed content in his emails.

He will be missed by all, my love and God's Blessings to his family.

I had no idea.  I knew that he had heath issues, but I did not realize that his time on earth was so short.  He will be missed, but always remembered with his posts here.

This is really bad news. Sonny had been in touch with my self a while back, and he will be missed by all.
