I got it.  My video card is really not all that great, so I can't run glass.

UAP is annoying, but I see good use for it if they work a few things out with it.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

I thought you might like to see this screen shoot.  I really like the new layout and the added functionality, but there are (so far) 3 critical programs that don't run on it .

I just think it is cool that you can have a slide show, a clock, rss feeds, cpu usage, and calculator right on your desktop.  It really saves me time.  I love the gaget feture.  I do agree, the UAP sucks!  I turned it off becaue everytime I booted it would pop up 3 times in a row because of the Antivirus that Microsoft suggested

Haha.

I use Winbar in XP and so I always had the CPU and Mem usage (along with RSS feeds -- but I used that just for the current outside weather temp ).

Burn the image to a DVD.

Then boot from that DVD.

Yup.  I tried everything as a virtual drive, and even un-compressed it to my local machine, but in the end I had to burn a DVD to get it to work.

The sad thing is that Microsoft actually says this on the site where you download it...but of course I didn't bother to read that.

It would have been nice of them to include something in the download though too .

ha my life just got worse, as of reading that these errors might be due to corrupt files and that ist worth downloading again, which i done and takes about 24 hours with a wireless connection that keeps going down, the active x download manager that they supply u with crashed out on me at 91% and thought it would be funny to delete all the downloaded bits. I'll head to linux

Oh, I forgot to mention (Microsoft says this too), that you more than likely have to install this on a fresh partition.  Trust me, you download is fine.  If you have a spare hardrive (I went out and bought one), install it, and install it from scratch.  It will work then.

Vista Pre-RC1 was released to the first 100,000 people today.  So far I like it a LOT better than Beta 2.

I do wish I could use Trillian though.
