Ok, I know that smileypad works with eblah ( great news to me), I have now got over 2000 smilies of various types, and I have put some of them on a web host at 100.com and the folder is chmod ? to 755, I have put the full url for a smilie on this site on my forum and it doesn't work, is the 755 wrong ?. I really do not understand the chmod thing ( sorry).

The smilies have to be inside of the smilies directory (inside of Blahdocs), I believe.

Sorry Justin, I didn't make that clear obviously. I have these on a web host that does not run eblah. Basically my paid web host WITH eblah on board are very stuffy and won't allow me to place smilies onboard for other people to hotlink from them, consequently it makes it pointless even trying to load them into smileypad.

My solution was ( hopefully) to upload them to a second free web host and then use them from that, however the directory is chomdded to to 755, I know nothing about this subject so I dont know if that setting stops them being accessible from the outside world, if so I presume that changng the setting would then allow this.

I have an amazing number of smilies, and no problem of off loading them to anyone "hint", and so I may even rar the up for the borrowing.

Now, I am no programmer but I have a friend who is ( when I can get hold of him ) and I was going to ask him to make me a script that would take a directory and its content of smilies and then write me a file (smp ?) that I can then use to import them into eblah with. I can then also break them into sets. Sound like a good idea ?

Yeah, but you can't hotlink off of other sites.  Actually, you could change the URL to the smilies directory in Admin/Settings to your other host.

ok will try that in a bit, at the momment I have a friendin irc who is talking to me and making scripts for various things for my forum, will share when he has done them if their any good.
