I have created the button, and my template.html uses the variable $menubar to place the buttons. What do I need to edit to add a button to that variable?

You'll need to modify each button's real name.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

You mean change my button name to one of the items in the bar such as admin.gif etc.?

I am not trying to change the buttons that are there, I want to add an additional button that links to an outside site.

First you need to make the button, are you able to do this?

The code you would use is, this is from my own site where I have extra buttons.

Code
<a href="http://www.pcfixzone.co.uk/" target="_self">
<img border="0" src="http://www.pcfixzone.co.uk/forum/blahdocs/images/returnhome.gif" height="19"></a>
<blah v="$menubar">
<a href="http://www.pcfixzone.co.uk/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b=,v=portal">
<img border="0" src="http://www.pcfixzone.co.uk/forum/blahdocs/images/portal.gif" width="46" height="18"></a>

Hope this helps

Oh I see, you simply added the image in front of the menubar. You didn't change the menubar.

Dur hur, I guess that would be the easy way to do it.

Yes, I already created my button. I attached it, tell me what you think. I just opened one of the preexisting buttons in MSPaint and zoomed way in and used the pixel size brush and made what I wanted. How do people who know what they're doing make buttons. That one took me almost 2 hours.

Looks good.  I have no idea how people endure the pain of graphics programs.  It drives me nuts to use them...probably why I don't make cool graphics .

It took me hours upon hours to get do all the E-Blah graphics.  Most of the icons aren't my own though.  Adding them into the buttons were a pain though.

Ok, I got the button on the site. Your transparent bg works great. But, I had to change the button. I left the border off the top around the radiation lines coming off the dot of the 'i'. It was filling in the top bit of the button. So I made the necessary changes, made the button look right, but I cannot reproduce the transparent bg, and for some reason every time I save the file my computer pixelates it. This is what I come back with. Could you remove the outer radiation line, fill in the border, and make this transparent for me?

I really appreciate it, and if you cannot do it, it is not a big deal at all.

*Edit*
Now that I post the picture, it's not pixelated like it was in Paint. Could you just make it transparent?

This is put in the template.html file.

Here's a standard homepage button.
