Hello,
I'm very new to Perl programming and I'm after a little help if possible.
I am attempting to run a simple test script but when I try to run the script it opens the Perl interpreter for a split second then closes it straight away, any ideas where I'm going wrong ?.

Many thanks in advance,

Richard.

Are you using Windows?

if you are, open an MSDOS window first and cd into the directory that has your script in then run it from the command line with something like perl myscriptname.pl

That way should leave the output on the screen for you to see.

Hope that helps.

Hello,
I am creating a script that requires the user to input a customer reference number (must be 4 digits) and their Surname (between 1 and 20 alphabetic characters), any ideas of the best way of verifying these fields ?, if the information input by the user doesn't meet the verification criteria I need the script to advise of the error and prompt for the same info to be entered again.

Many thanks in advance,

Richard.

You would have to learn Perl to be able to achieve that!

Good luck with your project.
