I would like to setup two forums for my website, one for general chat, like, how was your day, what are your plans...etc, and another site for guides and help.
i would like to have the users not need to register for both forums, and would like to have a different theme for each site.  I tried setting this up, but it failed miserably, and wondered if anone else had any ideas.  
What i did with the current setup was to have two different files for the server (forum and forum2, and use two different upload files (upload and upload-tech).  
however, i cannot login with the current members directory for the second forum pointed at the first forum memberlist....
Or is this a useless quest and I should give up?

oh, I don't know if it is related, but the passwords were encrypted on the first forum...

You'll need to open Settings.pl, and replace the very last (mods) section from the working forum with the other forum.
