I've installed the latest version of eblah, the problem is that when people register to join, (registration succesful) they cannot login. they keep being directed back to the login page. I've had this problem myself and had to set the privacy slider in Internet Options to accept all cookies, log in to the forum and re-set the privacy slider back to its normal position (medium) this seems to work.
My site domain name is redirected to my other domain name where the forum resides could this be the problem?
Please Please help. its driving me crazy..........

Are you using a frame to mask the actual forum address?

Also, if you can post a link to the forum it would help.

-Craig.

The problem is with the cookie.  It is being passed to the users computer as username@http://www.yoursite.co.uk instead of the masked url.

There is a way to do this via .htaccess files that works much better, but I have no idea how it works

I know that Martin and Justin are smart on these type of things.  Martin, can you take care of this one?

I am confused why you are masking this url as it seems that you own yoursite.co.uk the one that you are using as your main frame.

If you just don't want to have /cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl show up, you should use the mod re-write function...if your server supports it.

**EDIT** - I forgot to add that you might try changing your Forum URL inside the admin center to http://www.yoursite.com
That might fix it .
I hope this helps.

I am having this same issue and it is only with IE. Firefox doesn't cause this problem. I tried the suggestion above about changing the forum url in admin...no go.
I mask my url because it is a subweb. Please help this is driving me and my members nuts.

What are your settings for cookies? maybe my users have too restrictive a setting for the cookies.

Also I just validated you, can you try again?

This is with microsoft Internet Explorer? I don't know what the problem is then because my IE is set to default also and it prevents me from logging in too. I have about half my members complaining about the problem, I just tell em to use firefox since it is better anyway, but would still like to know what is going on. Thanks for trying though.

UPDATE: I just figured out it has to do with the masking I have. I sent you the direct link to the forum when I should have sent you to this link.
http://www.keepersofthedragon.com on the frontpage click on the forums link and try it.

Here is a possible solution, it's using php to do a framed redirect.

Make this your hyperlink:

Code
<a href="http://www.keepersofthedragon.com/frame.php?url=http://www.cloud8.net/cgi/forum/Blah.pl?v-portal/" target="_blank">Link Name</a>

Unzip and upload the 2 php files to your root.

Keep me posted.
