I've started on it ...

I'll try to update this thread in what I'll try to add.  So far I believe it should have the following:

  • I'm going to get "Monday" starting down (so the month can start on Monday's).
  • Centralization -- More centralized, no more SimpleCalendar and Full calendar, now just one sub -- making it faster to get things done (+ smaller file size)

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Right now I have a preview of what's to come on the calendar page.  I'm not sure how far I'll get with the actual backend tonight.  So far I plan on allowing the following for events:

Owner (for "personal" calendars)
Groups (Managers and Admins can edit -- permissions are now going to be like Boards and Category permissions)
Start Date/Time and End Date/Time (end date not required)
Repeating events ever "X" number of Days

Everything will be in ONE centralized database instead of individual user databases -- which is VERY hard to manage, truth be told).

The old database will either have to be converted or scrapped.  I may add every X day of every Y month too (for like Easter).

When I get done I should distribute the calendar sepreately, it'd probably do really good outside the forum ... but I'm not sure I have time to handel another project like that at the current.

Everyone can go and check out what the new "Add Event" view will look like by going to the calendar.  Events won't post though (as I've not even wrote that yet ).

I added a few sample events for each of the new types of events (recurring every month, week, year, etc).  Be sure to check them out.    I want to finish getting bugs out and all and then get the manager good and working and hopefully get the next version of E-Blah out sometime soon.

will the events that are already listed still be in the database? my site is a music site and we have a great deal of shows and concerts already pluged into the calendar for the next several months.

is there any way to make the uncoming events from the calendar show as a seperate page?

on the main page of the website we post the shows with a link to the calendar for more info. it would be nice and (save me some time) if the uncoming events would do this. Or could this be done with a mod?

thanks
jim

I'll probably make a converter for users of older versions.

The other question, I'm not sure I understand.

Oh, I almost forgot, you need to link al the months and days and previous months to their respective months.  Right now it takes to many clicks to get to get to a month or day.

There has to be a way to block it or mask it.

Just curious, are the new calendar features complete in 9.75?  I was looking at it here on your site and it is looking great.  I was wondering, will times have to be entered in a 24hr format or could am/pm be worked in somehow.  Also, would it be possible to enter an end time?

End dates will be there ... or should be.

Times may or may not be in 24 hour format.  Not sure yet.

The calendar is FAR from complete.
