First make sure that the user who is posting the calender event has calender access. By default, only the admins can post an event on the calenders unless you have enabled Personalized Calanders which allows your members to post events that only they can see only.
Assuming you are using an Admin account or created a group that gives members access to post to the calander for everyone to see, this is how you can make sure they will display properly.
1) Click on Post New Event which is at the bottom of Calender Options 2) From the new screen, you can type its title, event length in days, type the message, etc. 3) This is very important, make sure you click on the Member Group that will be able to see the event. If you want everyone to be able to see it, make sure that you click on Everyone that is listed under Non-Member Groups of the Visible To when creating the event. Its simple to forget this step and only have it show for yourself.
I hope this was helpful to you and I can go into detail if you want to know how to setup a new forum group that adds calander rights to your members. |

Homer Simpson from Episode "King-Sized Homer" [reading screen] "To Start Press Any Key". Where's the ANY key? I see Esk ["ESC"], Catarl ["CTRL"], and Pig-Up ["PGUP"]. There doesn't seem to be any ANY key. Woo! All this computer hacking is making me thirsty. I think I'll order a TAB. [presses TAB key] Awp...no time for that now, the computer's starting."

Thanks for the quick reply, but there is is an additional problem.
I tried posting an event again and made sure that everyone was checked. The event seemed to post ok. However, when I tried to modify it, I received the error below and the event vanished from the calendar.
"There was an error with the event ID. Please go back and fix this error." |

If you are posting an event for everyone, make sure that your Prefs directory is chmod'd to 777. If that doesn't fix it, then chmod Events.txt (inside the Prefs dir) to 666. If there isn't an Events.txt file in the Prefs directoy, create one. That should fix it. |

I tried it, but alas to no avail.
The event posted ok, but when I tried to edit it, I received the same error and the event vanished.
Posting and viewing with admin account. Prefs directory - chmod 777 Events.txt - chmod 666
This was the contents of the events.txt file after the event was posted. 1142899139|1142845261|test|test|admin|1||0||
After the event vanished the file was blank.
Thanks! |
