My first post here; I just want to say what an amazing forum E-Blah is, and how much it meets my exact needs, thanks Justin!

I'm not sure if this is a bug or something more serious, but I'll try to explain it anyway.  I tried to log in to my forum the other day, to find that at the top of the screen there was the message 'This account is awaiting validation, or it has been disabled.', or something along those lines.  I tried to clear my cookies, which didn't do much really.  There were no login boxes visible, and the 'Log In' button had been replaced with 'Log Out', which just refreshed the page into the same state when clicked (after the logout confirmation page).

I was tearing my hair out over this.  I tried reinstalling the main files, which did nothing at all.  Upon further inspection, I noticed a file in the Members directory named '.dat'.  I deleted this, and everything was fine again.

I've been having a problem with someone over the past few days, who I expect has attempted to sign up with some sort of symbol meaning nothing, so it's impossible to ban him.  If this is the case, this has to be prevented to stop any possible monitors being punched in.

I would have posted the '.dat' file here, but in my anger I deleted it before I could think properly.

Argh ... it's a bug.

I'll look into this and try to re-release P9.71 in a few hours. I'll let you know what comes of it.
