Yeah, that may do it.  I looked for about an hour last night and it's a COMMON issue with AJAX.

I'll start adding the meta thing in the template.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

I've added it to this template already, maybe as standard in the next release?

I will see if I can find an answer, this is strange, I just cut and paste those characters into my previous post using Easy Edit and they show OK

If I had to put my finger on it, I would say that it has something to do with the default system font on your computer ...but then again, I know absolutly nothing about ajax.

Not for me....

@Craig: I don't think it's a question of what charset is installed client sided. If so, all special characters would be shown that way. But it only happens, after using fast edit.

What about the Browser?  I have mine set to Auto, and it has the Western European (Windows) font selected.

If I change the encoding in my browser, it changes the special charactrers that you all are typing here.

As I don't know how or why everyone is using these special characters, it is hard for me to figure out what is wrong with them.  I would say that some screen shots might help because depending on what encoding you are using with your browser, they will change.

Using Firefox 1.5.1 english version and german WindowsXP I get:

these characters while encoding is manually set to Western ISO-8859-1

Using the default encoding UTF-8 set by Martin in the html header I get:

Some of the quickedited posts look okay using UTF-8 but e.g Craigs signature is screwed up.
