Hi,

after using the fast edit feature, special characters like ä,ö,ü etc. are not properly saved.

Try adding this to the top of your template directly under <title>your title</title>

Code
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

Unfortunately this is not the solution. I already use the right character set. It only happens after using the "Easy edit" functionality.

I've tried to figure it out, but I'm not sure what causes it either.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

This is the top of my template code:

Code
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=0.2)">
<title><blah v="$title"> - <blah v="$mbname"></title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<blah v="$templatesu">/<blah v="$dtheme">/template.css">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

I have no problems with the quick edit, all speciel characters display as they should.

Hey Justin,

Noticed something strange with this, these characters show perfectly on my test board logged in or out.

ä,ö,ü

Here they show perfectly if logged out but change after logging in!!!

Eh?

Are you using some other theme?

Nope, I'm on your standard theme.
My test board is clean and using Winter as the default theme.
I'm looking into as I'm baffled with this, why should it work on my test site and not here? Not to mention members sites that don't work either.

Nope.  I want to solve this, just don't want to do dirty work ... but I may have to.

@Justin: Can you tell me the scriptname (an line number) that contains the quick edit function? I'll try to solve this myself. My users aren't happy.....

This is really a mysterious thing. The only solution is to kill the fast edit function by deleting the javascript code. I try to figure it out but it may take some time.
