I want to use a GTchat and an E-Blah Board on my website. If a user will register at the board he should not register on chat again an the other way round. Both programms should use one database or login. Did anyone programmed a script for this particular case?

Cheers

If the person who coded GTChat didn't encrypt the code or made it a little 'edit easy', it would have been made long ago. I'm sure.

Hi Jesse,
I read about this, but the forum http://www.gtchatforum.de is out of order. So I couldn't read about this topic anymore.
The Files are encypted and there must be an integration for E-Blah 5.

hope this helps

http://www.gtchat.org

You'll find another support board there for GTChat (even though it is unofficial, people still post on it as the last place that they can go).

Oh, and I'm pretty sure GTChat could be combined with E-Blah. (Quite easy, in fact.)

Oh... no, I didn't mean wbb... lol. I just ment that there was another message board that people posted on about GTChat.

And if I bothered to sit down and have a look at some of the modules of E-Blah, I probably could configure it to read GTChat member files (or vice versa, since I already know how to do it in GTChat).

Hi SplitCoffee,

the information that i found on one German GT Chat forum was the following post:

"Erstmals - es ist möglich, denn die YaBB-Paßwörter sind in der Standardversion unverschlüsselt. Um daraus ein GTChat-Paßwort zu erhalten, muß man es mittels crypt mit seed "tr" verschlüsseln. Ein Konvertierungsscript wäre wirklich nicht allzu kompliziert, ich gebe mal hier die Bedeutung der Zeilen in den Member-Dateien an:

Paßwort (verschlüsselt, crypt mit Seed tr)
Nickname
Benutzergruppe (-2 bis 3, also Gesperrt bis Chat-Master)
E-Mail
freilassen
freilassen
freilassen
freilassen
freilassen
freilassen
Smileys (1=an)
Mail-Adresse öffentlich (1=an)
freilassen
freilassen
freilassen
Webpage-URL
Webpage-Titel

Zu beachten ist noch, daß die Namen auch in memberslist.txt auftauchen müssen, jede Zeile dort enthält Nickname und Benutzername des Mitglieds, getrennt mit |. Die Datei ist nach Nicknames sortiert."

Its translatet:

You need to crypt i t with seed "tr". The member file looks like this:

Password (crypted, crypt mit Seed tr)
Nickname
Usergroup (-2 to 3, from banned to Chat-Master)
E-Mail
free
free
free
free
free
free
Smileys (1=on)
Mail-Adress public (1=on)
free
free
free
Webpage-URL
Webpage-Titel

Thats all.

Thanks

Mala

Man, when I looked at the member files, it had a lot more than just those... (maybe it's from all the addons I've created... lol).

GTChat. I haven't actually had an E-Blah board yet, since every time I try to install one, it  stuffs up (don't ask me how, it's totally stupid).

That's cool.

I'm searching for a Avatar Addon for GTchat made by TrioXX or another Avatar Addon that shows smal pictures in front of the nickname (may be a combination of EBlah and GTChat Avatar   ). If you have one, would you please post it? (I have no access to http://www.gtchatforum.de, so i coudn't download it form this site)

I found a special login procedure for my original Problem. Its placed at my start page on the website and will connent people direkt into a special chatroom. May you give me a hint how to combine ist with Eblah?.

<TABLE width="60%">
<TR valign=top>
<TD><form name=loginForm action=http://www.your adress.com/chat.pl
method=post target=_blank>
<input name="name" type="text" maxlength="15" value="Nickname" onBlur="if(this.value=='') this.value='Nickname';" onFocus="if(this.value=='Nickname') this.value='';" size="15"><BR>
<input style="WIDTH: 100%" type=password
value="Passwort" name=password size="15"><BR><DIV align=center><input type=submit value="-=Login=-" name="submit"><BR><BR><FONT size=1><A HREF="http://www.your adress.com/chat.pl?id=&language=&css=&proxy=&template=reminder"TARGET="web
toolframe" onClick="window.open('http://www.your adress.com/chat.pl?id=&language=&css=&proxy=&template=reminder', 'webtoolframe', 'width=550,height=300,hotkeys= no,menubar=no,locationbar=no,resizeable=no,status=no')"><FONT color=#C10000>Password lost?</FONT></a></FONT></DIV><input type=hidden name=id>
<input type=hidden name=language>
<input type=hidden name=room value=Chatroom>
<input type=hidden name=css>
<input type=hidden name=proxy>
<input type=hidden value=login name=action></form></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>

Thanks Mala

I'll ask him about that addon.

As for the other question, I don't quite understand what you mean.

The loginpage should not be the gtchat login page oder eblah. Instead of this there is a "normal" Webpage with the loginfields i posted before. After login a cookie or something like that should be created and the user is "logged in" in the community. If he clicks on the link for chat, he is going directly to a special chatroom. Or clicking on Board, Eblah pops up and he is logged in in the forum. If he logged out form board or chat he should not be logged out form "Website".
Thanks

Oh, I get what you mean now... Yes, that should be possible, but I'd do it with a drop down menu, where it changes which address the <form> action abbritute is.

Oh, and I was just reading the E-Blah files, and I think I know how to convert E-Blah to read GTChat files!

I'm gonna set up a test GTChat and then try and convert one or the other to read the others files. (All you really need is the members files to be readable by both).
