A few weeks ago I noticed a problem in 9.6 that if you change the month that you are viewing it highlights the the box for todays date in red.  In other words if I view January now the 25th will be highlighted, if I then changed to Febuary using the drop down box the 25th will still be highlighted.
I followed instructions from this forum to correct this, but when I updated to 9.7 today the problem has come back again.

Other than that there were no problems with the install, or at least I havn't found them yet!

Thanks Guys.

Mike.

Correction, every month in 2006 has todays date highlighted no matter which drop down list is used to select it.  So if I click on 2007 then click on March, then click on 2006 again the 25th March 2006 will be highlighted as if it was today.

The simple calendar in the portal changes the highlighted day with the server time, not using the time offset in the forum settings.

My calendar page shows January 2006 when clicked, is it not meant to show the current month?

Upgrade to P9.81 from pit.eblah.com

If that doesn't solve it, you're out of luck.  The timezone settings are tricky.

No idea.  At the rate it's going, not until I start back to school.

What are the issues with installing a pre-release? Cant afford to lose any data/settings; but would really like to use some of the new features, especially on the Calendar.

Bugs.  It should convert, but may not.  I would backup the forum before doing anything.  You may want to do a test upgrade first as well.

FYI, I figured out what to fix in 9.71B so that only the current date is outlined in red, instead of, e.g., the 8th of EVERY month of the current year.

Not sure if it's the "proper" fix, but I am a big fan of whatever works.

In cgi-bin/forum/code/calendar.pl you need to fix two things:

Code
if($kday == $daycnt && $kmon == $gmonth && $kyear == $gyear)

change to:
Code
if($kday == $daycnt && $Kmonth == $gmonth && $kyear == $gyear)

and:
Code
if($kday == $daycnt && ($kmon == $tempmonth) && ($kyear == $tempyear+1900))

change to:
Code
if($kday == $daycnt && ($Kmonth == $tempmonth) && ($kyear == $tempyear+1900))

Good work!
I havn't tested it properly, but that seems to have done the trick.

Thanks very much for your excellent assistance.

Mike.
