I've just noticed an anomaly in the functioning of the Latest Thread: option under the Total Forum Statistics heading.

When I arrive as an ordinary Guest user, not logged in to the forum, it displays the name of the latest thread, however when I click on the link, it takes me to a completely unrelated thread.

Logging in as a registered user or Admin makes no difference, I still get redirected to the same wrong thread.

I did notice this weeks ago, but forgot all about it as I automatically hit the Recent posts button every time I arrive, to see what new activity there's been, but the Latest Thread caught my eye today, and I was surprised to see it take me to the same wrong thread as it had done weeks ago. It's very memorable as it has a photo in the first post.

It seems to have persisted through 9.4, 5 and 6 upgrades (I have a board that has to stay on 9.2 for the moment, and the Latest Thread works fine in there), and Rebuilding the Message Boards repeatedly has had no effect on the symptom.

Well, someone had the bug for Latest thread, and he hasn't yet replied with FTP info so I can try to fix it.

For some reason I've never saw it happen here.


I've just looked around here, and still can't duplicate it.  

I think it's a cache problem for some people ... but I have saw it happen on another forum, so I'm still stumped until I FTP and try to debug it.

What I have noticed is that it happens on boards with sub cats, I mentioned it here:

Tried to look at the link given, but it seems to fail for me.

I can confirm that the forum does have a couple of boards that have sub-cats, and that selecting the Latest Thread does indeed jump to one of the sub-cat threads.

I can add an FTP account to let you look at the forum on my site if you wish.

Here ... this should fix it.

Certainly did, straight to the Latest Thread with no problems.
