when 'E-mail me when I receive new Private Messages' is activated the PMs are forwarded as emails with the wrong username (it's always the name of the admin)

karl

I can't believe this but I think I know what this is!

As the default "Admin" your screen name may be "YourName" but the software still sees you as "admin" and is using that.

Have to ask one of the other guys but I don't think you can change the "admin" name if your the "admin".  Easy way to tell is to go to Admin and look at "view all members".  You will notice that you are listed under your "Display Name" but the name in parathises is "admin".

We ran into this problem integrating my photo album and had to do a work around in the photo album.

i'm not quite sure if i can follow you here

what i mean:

the "from" field of the email displays always the admin name, and not the email-address of the member who acutally sent the PM.

Yes sir that is it exactly.

And because the e-mail is Generated through E-Blah, the E-Blah software uses it's default.

To test this make yourself an "Alter Ego" profile and e-mail address.  Allow yourself full administrator rights.

Send an anouncement using your normal Admin Log In to your Alter Ego.

Log out and do the cookie dump drill and Log back in As your Alter Ego.

Check your Alter Ego e-mail.  Then REPLY back to your norma Admin self.

You will see what I am talking about.

Oh wait a minute....

It is JUST the PM from field no matter who sends it?
