I know there is nothing wrong with the code but if you view the source it doesn't show the variables used.
Here's where I'm stuck, just keep getting a "GetElementById" error

I've created the button and I've added the extra javascript but when you view the page source it doesn't show you what is in:

b-$URL{'b'} is converted into the board name
m-$messid is converted into the message id

etc etc

So is this correct?

Nope, it just errors for me and I know it's the javascript:EditMessage part that is wrong.

How about emailing me MessageDisplay.pl so I can check out the code properly, I'm trying to get your button problem sorted.
