Good morning all.

Justin you ROCK!  Ordered my install at 9:00PM (PST) and you had the board up this morning!

As I said in my e-mail, I am a self proclaimed "advanced user" and not a script writer, web master, or programer so I depend on those that do know how to do this stuff.

I would like to have a theme on my board that follows my web page.

http://www.dingscc.com

I looked at the two Army themes and they are close to what I was thinking of but they are awful dark.  I wanted to use more orange and white.

Can someone help a vet?

Thanks
Ding

I have been using this board to get a feel for what a member/guest will be able to do and not do when I put my board online.

Is there a way for the member/guest to reverse the messages displayed by date/time?  What I mean is there a way for the member/guest to view the newest messages first putting the messages in decending order?

Thanks Ryan I will later on this morning.

And yet another question....

When I was on my Soapbox on the other thread I had a thought....amazing huh

Is there a way to add a spell checker?  Not on the quick reply but on the main reply/post?

Thanks again

Hey there Ding

You can find a spellchecker mod here:  http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1118521008/

This will only work if your host has installed Aspell, it is a very common module and is usually installed by default.

Ryan,

Just uploaded the Theme.  VERY NICE!  I like it.

I think I might tweek the HTML header a little but I do like the colors you chose.  I ran it with my webpage in a background window and it looks great.

Thanks a million.

I mean NetSol, they are your host provider, you could install it and see if it works then if it doesn't just ask your host to install the module for you.

Martin,

I just talked to NetSol and they do NOT have Aspell loaded.

Can you recommend a stand alone (preferably freeware) spell checker that I could ask someone to patch a script in for me?  I haven't even began to touch the amount of space I have on the server so size really isn't an issue.

again thanks to all the support staff here.

Ryan,

Again my puter illiteracy is apperant.

This is what I wanted but now I can't get the GIF to center without either the board going all white or some other such thing.

I would also like to put a "back to Ding's" button/arrow????  that will send the user back to my webpage. Or a message that says to click on the Logo to return to my website....Something like that.

And finally, cause I am a real pain in the buttocks,

Is there a way to make the Border space, I believe it is called "Padding" (I think it is set at 6px) in black as well.  Just so the outside of the screen edges are black not the entire background.

Thanks in advance.

I was a little bit unclear what you meant with:

Quoted Text
Is there a way to make the Border space, I believe it is called "Padding" (I think it is set at 6px) in black as well.  Just so the outside of the screen edges are black not the entire background.

So I adjusted the template to center the image and put a text link below the title image to go back to the homepage.  Check out the attachment.

You ROCK as well my friend!

Thanks.  I'll now turn it over to my "stylish" and way more web savvy Mother...Yes that is who did my web page.

looks really great!  Just noticed that you have some sort of broken tag at the bottom of the page, though.

Thanks Riff but the credit goes to Ryan.

Ok so I got a couple of more "issues" here.

I asked my Mom about doing some things and we figured out a couple of them but we need an assist again.  Sorry for being a pain but this new board really has me stoked up and I want to fire the MSN board and get mine up and running.  I haven't publicly anounced my new Forum except to those who come here and to my Mom.

Oh, and my Ma downloaded the software and is loading it onto a couple more pages that she hosts.  We talked this morning for about two hours on the phone trying to crack some of my issues and I think she will be registering in here shortly.

Anyway, to my "issues"

1.  My Ma and I tried to get rid of that broken tag at the bottom.  Didn't seem to matter how we did it or what we replaced it with it would cause the board to go white and loose the theme.  Here is what I think is the complete line -

alt="Gallery" />
    <area shape="rect" coords="271,18,359,39" href="/products/" target="mainframe" alt="Products" />
    <are

What do I need to do to kill that tag?

1.A.  As a sub note to this.  My Ma uses both PC and Mac.  She said that on her Mac the board is just white but on the PC it has the colors and theme.  Is there a way to get the Mac users to see the same thing as the PC users?  or will I just have to put a disclaimer on the registration/startup for the Mac Users?

2.  I have adjusted a couple of the colors on the template.  I think it ties the page in a little better and isn't quite so harsh on the ole peepers.  BUT -

When I go to the Members Center the Font Color beside the little people is in Gray.  Can I change that color to Red or White to match the rest of the board?  If so where do I do it?

3.  I want a visitor to my web page to be able to click on "Ding's Workbench" and the forum board will open in a new window with no navigation controls.  Not a problem there.  We can do that with the link from the Homepage.

When the visitor clicks on "Back to Dings Homepage" I would like a couple of things to happen.

3.A.  If the visitor is a first timer:

3.A.(1) A "Register Now?" pop up.
Yes = To Registration form + When the registration is completed and the user logs in for the first time -
Add to Favorites/Bookmark - Pop up prior to going to the forum.
              No = "Back to Homepage"

3.A.(2) Registered users back to homepage.

(What I am trying to do is force guests and first time users through my web page.  Once someone is registered they will be able to access the board from anywhere.)

AND registration/Members leads me to another item.

3.B.  Inside the registration is there a way to create a folder/directory for each member 3-5MB in size.  This folder would be used for picture storage for the members.  I think it would need to be imbeded into the members profile or the members data would be imbedded into the folder/directory or something but it should probably be secure from everyone but the Administrators.  Size limitation would need to be a must with a "high water mark" or "space available" marker for each member folder.

From there I think I might be able to create a "Photo Gallery" for public view ect...  Hopefully this will allow the less computer litterate users (such and myself) an easier methode of posting pictures both in the "Photo Gallery" and in messages by reducing the amount of code they would have to type.

  (i.e. current posting syntax=
what I am looking for syntax= or =)

4.  And finally, I am still looking for a shareware dictionary program that will work on E-Blah.  Any suggestions?

Again I can't thank all of you enough.  I WILL be going to CGI Resource and posting my praise for this software.
