Not yet, I'm afraid but I'm going to give it a go. Not sure if I am that advanced enough in perl programming yet.

Installed the mod, and it works ok on the three mail accounts coded in with it.

However...

Added a line as described in the accompanying note to the download, and the intent was to stop registration with an aol address (one of our main offenders) but when I tested it, the registration was accepted by eblah with no problem.

I tried some random made-up domains too, but they were accepted without question too.

I've left the following aol line in Register.pl, after the three original code lines for the moment, if you want to try it:

Code
error_reg($registertxt[29]) if($FORM{'email'} =~ /\Q$emailin\aol/sig);

Anything I'm missing?

You haven't, it seems to ignore aol for some reason, I have written a new mod but aol is the only one I can't get it to recognise.

I'm working on so watch this space.

Thank you.

It's only 3 little letters, but that combination of a, o and l always seems to have some sort of a problem associated with it, even where it shouldn't really.

For info, I tried using 6 characters as in 'aolaol' and that wasn't recognised either.

I'll keep watching...

Ewww ....

Not sure what this is supposed to do, but that should fix it.

That's doing \a which isn't good.  I'm not sure what $emailin is, but I don't think it needs to be there.

Typical aol. Even their name produced problems.

That revised edit has indeed made the aol ban functional.

I also transferred your revised edit to the hotmail, lycos and yahoo lines that were built into the mod, and they rejected those accounts too.

As ever, many thanks for the assist.

This is better so you don't have to do 500 diffrent regex's:

Code
error_reg($registertxt[29]) if($FORM{'email'} =~ /(aol|lycos|yahoo|hotmail)/sig);

Thanks for the Ban mod.

I made a small change to your ban mod to restrict to a single domain and it worked great.  I am still very new to this and wouldn't have figured it out without the mod.  I replaced the aol... bans with a single not included check, and a mod to the .lng file to inform users that they need to use their domain email account.  I don't know if this was the best way, but it seemed to work pretty well.  If there is a better way, please advise.

error_reg($registertxt[29]) if($FORM{'email'} !~ /\Q$emailin\xxxxxx/sig);

$registertxt[29] = 'Only users with a valid xxxxxx email account may register with this forum.  Please enter your xxxxxx email address.';

I am still testing this out, but may actually go online with the board in another week or two.
