I'd really like it if I could display the last 'x' topics (url, subject, date:time) on my homepage. I code it php, so this might have to be a ilayer/frame but does anyone know how to strip down a script just to output these items? Then I can add my own style css or whatever to this file, or temp.

Another useful piece would be to display the topics (url, subject, date:time) from a single board or catagory on the forum, say posted within the last 7 days.

I dont feel like going through a script and butchering it to see if I can get the right output, basically I know squat all about cgi and I'd break my forum - guarentteed! I just think this would be really neat and used on loads of websites.

Love to hear what you think

Edit the news template, and then make it news items.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Thanks, didnt realise that.

I cant seem to find any docs on the news feature, I can get the template and the url, but how do you include a board or catagory to populate the news url?

Use the following in your php page... changing the part in red, to whatever the ID of the board you want to include is:

<? print file_get_contents("http://www.whatever.com/cgi-bin/blah/Blah.pl?v=shownews,b=test"); ?>

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but all I get is: <html><body></body></html> outputed from the server - no matter which id I use.
