Ok when modify'n the root dirs, should I point them to my members and pref folders in my cgi bin or just to the folder where the phpshoutbox is?

Good work... also on some servers you may need to chmod the messages file to 777
Just need an admin function to remove the entries but great mod.

Ok sweet!
Thats what i thought but I always get a wee concerned when it comes to those DIR changes. I am using a free chat script called JabberChat right now. It has some cool actions in it. Would there be a possibilty of adding actions into your script? My members like that perticular feature.
Also how could I shrink the overall length of the box, make it 50 to 75 percent of the length it is now?

I have done a couple of Admin functions they can be seen on my other test site:

As the script only displays a set number of shouts, you can view all messages with the Archive button. I have also added a clear all button.(passworded out of course  ).

Ok I am trying to install the script and I am getting a 404 error instead of the shoutbox.

I can't figure out what I have done wrong, I am guessing it is the DIR changes and I have tried different combos and still no shoutbox.

Maybe I should use that absolute root code...anyone?

Ok and also is the chat included with this script, I kinda thought it was just like at your site Warlock.

The chat is seperate, I have done loads of installs, some have the Shoutbox,others have the Chat a a few have both.
I see you uploaded PHPShout in with blahdocs, did you adjust the path's in config.php to refelect this?  The install notes say upload to the root/public_html.

blahdocs is my public html folder

heres what I changed the dirs to

             same here ...../Members

Warlock, is there a way to change the Default user name for the Forum Adminsirator? Mine just comes up "admin".
