OK I see it, kill the mod. I'm going to install it on my test forum and try to solve the problem. Will get back to you on this.

Hey Mike

I've modified the attached slightly and installed it on my 9.6 test board.

All worked perfectly, I could add the extra fields and could still see and change the avatar.

One thing I did notice with my host server is that when Blah.pl is replaced by the mod, it is not chmod to 755 either during installation or removal of the mod.
The 2nd file is a small mod that fixes this problem so install first if needed.

If this does not fix your problem then I would need ftp access so I could check out your setup.

Martin, I could not install your new mod because I am using 9.71B so there were a few 'code not found in source' errors.

I was aware of the issue with needing to chmod blah.pl, or blah.cgi in my case, and was doing this manually as a matter of course.

The best thing for me to do now is wait for 9.8 to be released properly and then try this again.  I am trying to write lots of other scripts which share member info and login info with EBlah so I am holding fire until 9.8 is officially released because of changes to the member data structure which seem to be being introduced, eg. members will have a sequence number instead of a internal member name.
I will probably wait until 9.8 can be called near enough bug free then modify it myself to include additional member fields but only where I need them, i.e not configurable as this mod does.

Once again thanks for your excellent assistance Martin, it's good to have you around for times like this.

Mike.

Sorry about that Mike, had it in my head that you were on 9.6 for some reason.

You can wait for the next release but all mods will have to be tested/converted, not sure how long that will take.

Here is the mod for 7.1b with the same minor changes.

Very strange, all settings look OK.  If you want me to try and solve this I will need temporary ftp access.  If you are OK with this then pm details to me.

Most welcome, make sure you don't lose it as this is written for your forum ONLY.

Still can't get to the bottom of why the standard one will not work, probably down to the type of redirect.

I still need to clean up a few bits when you are happy.

The Avatars seem to be working fine now not sure what you did. Strange how the other works on the same server  with no problems. I should keep a backup copy of Blah.pl? Thanks once again for your help.

I am still having the same problem when the mod is installed, the list of pre-installed avatars disappears.

I will leave it until I can move up to v9.8 as I will only have to go through it all over again!

Once again, thanks very much for all your help Martin, I don't quite understand why this problem would not affect every board with this Mod installed though?
