I have this problem, on a forum I have been upgrading through updates. (Also on this same forum I have to disable news otherwise members get an error message while posting on the activated boards even though the post works this has also been happening through several updates I don't know if this is related.) that said, I have a brand new forum installation (9.71B)on which I have no problems at all.

On the forums that have been updated, check the settings as there is a new variable to blahdocs and without this being correct then the javascripts will not bee seen.

Admin Center - Directories and Wab Addresses

$bdocsdir = "/blahdocs"; (or what ever the path is)

There is also:

$bdocsdir2 = "/this is the same as/$templatesu/but without the /templates";

I joined both but can't post on http://www.techniciansvoice.co.uk/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl to see the error message.

I did validate my email and it did say that all was OK and I also see that this is 9.6

Can you post the exact error please.

Great looking sites by the way.

With regards to my Avator problem.

Just in case you need to know, I am using 9.71B, not the Beta.  I have changed the mod manually to alter blah.cgi not blah.pl although I could now revert this file name as I now use mod rewrite with great success!

Let me know if you need to get admin privileges for EBlah!, I will not grant full ftp rights to anyone but I can grant limited access if really necessary.

Thanks.... they are based on your subsilver design. You wont get the error message unless I enable news. it has been the same on the last two or three upgrades. But it is more important to have " Additional member info"because I want to keep certain people out. We are, or we have been in a battle against injustice, so we only let certain people in...... I've let you in by the way. I haven't got around to the last upgrade yet.

I enabled news for the bottom 4 board because they are open to the public ........ then
when you post on any of those boards you get an error 500 message ... sorry I should of mentioned that before..... if you were to post where you did before it will happen.

Now I see it, looking into it for you.

... EDIT ...

Not sure what you mean by "I enabled news for the bottom 4 boards"

Can you explain how you are doing this please.  Also, I created a test board, can you enable the news the same way.

I'm sorry.. I mean I have enabled the news script on the bottom 4 boards having said that I believe you have done something because it isn't doing it at the moment? I have enabled your test board in the same way.

Just one question, what was the reason for the Pre-Installed Avatars not showing. As admin I can see them, but everyone else sees just the base gallery folder? or am I being a pain.

With regards to my Avatars problem, you probably would be able to see them when you tried, as I said, I removed the mod again to restore normal functionality.
To demonstrate I have re-installed the mod.  Log in again and try to select an alternative Avatar in your profile, and let me know how you get on.

Also let me know when I can kill the mod again!

Mike.
