This is a bit like playing pool in the dark. It'd be a lot easier if you had a virtual host, and an ftp account for us to use.
Or you could put both forums in sub-directorys of the cgi-bin. That might help.
Warlock... just trying it myself. I'll holler in five minutes.
Why would it be easier if I had a virtual host? What does me enabeling perl in blah_forum make any diffrence? Or even more so, sub directorys in the CGI-BIN directory? I wouldn't think it'd make any diffrence. And tell me, if you had a site hosted by someone, would you want a url like: http://www.somesite.com/cgi-bin/SOMENAME/Blah.pl ? I think that's a bit too long and er... I wont go through the hassle of setting up a virtual host just for something like that... not unless I hosted an actual website for someone. Anyhow, the biggest problem is, I can't use DirectoryIndex Blah.pl because it aswell doesn't work in my httpd.conf file nor a .HTACCESS file. Not worth my time playing around with, IMO. I removed that forum, so I only have one forum. I'll keep my current version and stuff. I wont be upgrading for a while. |

And erm, I don't think posting my settings is needed
Just wanted to confirm the path's that was all. May I ask you why /eblah_forum is not /cgi-bin/eblah_forum? |

Nope the Modification Center bugs haven't been fixed yet.
I keep asking Justin but he says that the Modification needs a complete and entire rewrite because of the bugs.
I'm hoping he will fix it before P9 goes final!
Hmm, ok then, because there's no point in rewriting the mods without the language bugs being fixed. I can't make an entire set of language files for each combination of mods, lol |

This worked perfectly fine for me on a first install:

Code

My install went straight in with out a hitch. I think T3hProhibited has given up for now. Maybe he will give it another shot with your settings. |

Looks like Justin has changed the layout of the Settings.pl from my P9 beta and it is a very nice improvement.
I see that the path's are pointing to /blah/ and not /blahdocs/, did you install to /blah?
The one line I see you that is wrong is this under: # URL to /blahdocs/{NAME} (URL-Directories; no trailing slash: /) $templates = "/blah/template"; # template
it should read:
$templatesu = "/blah/template"; # template
Try changing it.
Yeah, I did that last night. |

Ah!!! Your template problems are because you didn't chmod your templates DIR 777. Do that.
Yes I did, I even set the path to http://www.lmfaoforum.com/blahdocs/template to confirm that it was an E-Blah problem. |

Back to that same error as b4
Illegal division by zero at ./Code/MessageIndex.pl line 61.
Is this a bug Justin?
Actually, when I added the old P8 settings to it, everything worked ok, however, I don't want to mess around anymore and lose the template.. Btw, great job justin. I'm lovin' the admin center.. infact, I may upgrade my original forum this week end. |
