First post about cgi and pl was to you and second one was to Warlock. And I have found the problem about it not logging be in. It's because I need these settings:
|
Code
####### Essential Sets ####### $regto = qq*admin*; $eadmin = q*admin@mysite.com*; $cookpw = qq*blahpass*; $cooknme = qq*blahname*; $mailuse = 1; $smaill = "/usr/sbin/sendmail"; $mailhost = ""; $emailsig = q*This e-mail was sent via eblah. It is not in any way related to eblah or eblah.com.*; $mailauth = 0; $mailusername = ''; $mailpassword = '';
|
|
I added them and and I can now login |

Warlock... sorry Did the way I suggested work? on the forum in the eblah_forum directory?
No because I'm not allowed having those type of files in that directory. If I did people would be allowed access to http://www.lmfaoforum.com/eblah_forum/Members/admin.dat I can only have .PL, .cgi, and files to read and write to. I cannot display things like CSS from that directory. It's like another cgi-bin directory |

This would indicate that the new Settings.pl is lacking quite a lot. |

Just let me make sure I have things clear.
1. You don't have a cgi-bin directory 2. Everything that is normally loaded into cgi-bin is in eblah_forum 3. Everything that is normally loaded into blahdocs is in blah
Also can you post a copy of your Settings.pl for your P8 |

Hey O.B
What do you suggest about the new Settings.pl, I have compared it with the 1st 9beta and there is a lot missing. |

1. I have a cgi-bin Directory 2. I made eblah_forum thing I was going to host someone a forum. I was going to replace eblah_forum with their site name, but nvm. I didn't want to create a virtual host for a short name as I don't know how to use virtual hosts. So yeah, it was just for a shorter name. 3. I made it load in blah because I was going to host it for someone - They could edit the forum template and not use my original template at http://www.lmfaoforum.com/cgi-bin/Blah.plAnd erm, I don't think posting my settings is needed |

This is a bit like playing pool in the dark. It'd be a lot easier if you had a virtual host, and an ftp account for us to use.
Or you could put both forums in sub-directorys of the cgi-bin. That might help.
Warlock... just trying it myself. I'll holler in five minutes. |
