This is exactly what I meant by saying that I find the new features of P9 cool, but that they will cause me to have to redo this mod. But I'm now quite good at perl, because I've written some quite big extesion/addon of Eblah (which you'll sure enough see here shortly) so I'll do an update and post it here as soon as P9 is out.

Modding E-Blah will help you learn perl ... .  I wish others would take note and start making mods.  

Yeah, you're right, I've learned different programming languages so far mostly beginning with: "Now I want to learn this language" and then begin reading books or tutorials and writing "Hello World!" applications.

But in case of perl it was completely different: I began changing the html part of the files while (already knowing other programming languages) looking interested at the perl code and then step by step writing mods that were more complex and more about perl than about html. Finally I wrote a script that was completely done by me but included eblah files using the routines of the forum to work hand-in-hand with it. I'll post this one here as soon as I've finished translating it to English and/or made it use language files.

LOL!!! Commented script.  That's great ... haha.  I'm hate commenting my own stuff.  lol  I know what it does, but I sure as heck don't help others out, lol.

Well, I'd like to see this added as a feature to main-eblah.

And here's an update with basically no improvements but optimized and easier to read code.

The first file is for normal users and the second for those that use othelloblokes MessageDisplayHack.

Haven't tested it that much, though, so you'll have to try it out and report any bugs into this thread.

Installation Guide:

You have 2 possibilities.

Either upload the attached file into your mods folder (make sure you upload in ASCII) ...

... or insert the following code into the text box in: Admin CP -> Modification Center -> <<Text Box with title "Upload New Mod">>

Then you have to activate it in Admin CP -> Modification Center -> Member Group Background -- Install

If you have any problems, just post it here.

PS: Oh and you can't set any background, text color for moderators, have to do that later, perhaps.

Umm, and here goes a new version of the mod, now you can also set up a color, background, whatever for board moderators.
