Neat mod.  However, it will render themes useless because those settings override the theme.  You should make it so it doesn't affect themes.  Also, it only affects the Board Index.  It doesn't change anything when you are inside the message index or post.  Is that what you wanted it to do?

Yes, it should just change the color of the boards on board index and in subcats.

But what do you mean "doesn't affect themes"? When I want to change the color of some boards, I have to override the theme on these boards. The rest of the boards however can remain unspoiled by leaving the fields blank.

Ok, here is what I mean.  Go to the address below and go into the Chit-Chat board and you will see that win and win2 are not affected anymore.
http://www.blahdocs.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl

Then go to this address for a theme there and see that the theme is also affected.  This is bad when the theme has very different colors.
http://www.blahdocs.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b=,theme=mazeworx

Does that make sense?

Ah, now I got it. Well, I'd have to compute the color values of the theme with those of the board.

I'll try to make it compute a kind of "mix-color".

Thanks for the hint!

No problem.  I would just make it not affect themes.  Still a really neat mod.

Sorry, now I really got, what you meant. You meant that when the theme is a different than the default that then the mod would become inactive, right?

Ok, was an easy fix, as you are an admin, could you please replace the file in the first post with this one?

Now, it only applies the board colors when the standard theme is active.

And perhaps I'll tomorrow do something so that the backgrounds can be seen "inside" the boards.

I will uninstall "doublepost," which will not uninstall correcrtly because of the absence of a bak of English.lng, then upload new English.lng, then reinstall "doublepost," then install board_cat_colors." Correct?

No, it doesn't use the bak for uninstalling so, uninstall it, upload the new langfiles then reinstall it and then you can install the boardcolors mod.

I'm really sorry for this being so complicated but the mod center messes up some langfiles so I couldn't integrate the langchanges into the mod this time.

But Justin says, he'll fix it, so It'll get easier, soon.

Ok, I did it today already. Here is an updated version so that it displays the background and text color inside the board where the board description is shown.

You can leave the lang files. just uninstall the old version, upload the new and install the new version.

Please someone delete the attachment of my original post.

Thanks

Not a problem. So, in a perfect world, we will get a new mod sometime after v8.4.

Here is an updated version

Took lunch, uploaded. Reinstalled doublepost and a custom buttons mod I had made. No problem.

Everything tested excellent first time out.

One issue: Category-Color (win2) isn't showing in a top level category. Text color and background images do. Category-Color (win2) does show in subcategories. No other issues.

The syntax I am using for color is #33366 .

Had same problem with first version 347.

Gotta go to my real job now.

Category-Color (win2) isn't showing in a top level category

Oops, my fault. When making it Mozilla compatible I produced this bug. It's fixed now.

I don't understand what you mean by that but if you refer to the category (win2) bug, it's fixed now.

I have copied this file and put it in the Mod Center. I now shows up in the Mods directory I get no error messages, but it does not seem to do anything or show in the addition of new categories or the modification of old categories.

Any explanations?

I have never added a Mod before except for smilies
