Before the Christian era, Aramaic had become the language of the Jews in Palestine. Jesus preached in Aramaic, and parts of the Old Testament and much of the rabbinical literature were written in that language. Christian Aramaic, usually called Syriac, also developed an extensive literature, especially from the 4th to 7th centuries. if you want to read the full text, here is the link http://www.answering-christianity.com/jesus_speak.htm |

aramic is another word for hebrew. aram is abraham, the father of all hebrew man. the place of his birth call aram naraiyim. today, part of syria. "Christian Aramaic, usually called Syriac" is another jargon of aramic-hebrew and so Ladino, Idish and later arabic.
Trust me on this. my grandfather was the creator of the famous aramic dictionary: rabbi landau dictionary. and his grandfather was "hanoda beyehuda", yehezkel landau. search on the net, if you'r interested. |

Quoted from jimmy, posted June 14, 2004, 5:20pm at here
Jesus spoke Arabic, not Hebrew.
and this is your originally post. you said: Jesus spoke Arabic, not Hebrew. BTW in the mel gibson movie they speak the exact hebrew that he uses in his time. the movie is perfect because of those little details. |

and finally this is the link that you gave me:
Quoted Text
It's very important to know that the Hebrew and Greek letters that were found, are only translations that were written 150 to 300 years after Jesus. It is important to know that Jesus did not speak Greek. So therefore, the Greek letters are nothing but a translation (which could have many faults in it) from Aramaic to Greek. Same applies to Hebrew. When you translate a doctrine that was written hundreds of years after the fact into another language, then you can't really claim that your sources are 100% correct. As a matter of a fact, claiming 50% would be even too much.
Aramaic Language, Semitic language closely related to Hebrew. Originally the language of the Aramaeans (see Aram), it was used, in many dialectical forms, in Mesopotamia and Syria before 1000BC and later became the lingua franca of the Middle East (see Assyro-Babylonian Language). Aramaic survived the fall of Nineveh (612BC) and Babylon (539BC) and remained the official language of the Persian Empire (539-337BC). Ancient inscriptions in Aramaic have been found over a vast area extending from Egypt to China.
Aramaic began to decline in the 7th century AD. Aramaic survives today in Eastern and Western dialects, mostly as the language of Christians living in a few scattered communities in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran.
(From Encarta Encyclopedia )
the only problem with this text is that the writer of it call aramic: Aramaic Language, Semitic language closely related to Hebrew. I don't think he can tell the different between aramic and hebrew because there is NO different. only few words added in the last 300 years. the Language is exactly the same. Jews never spoke another Language but hebrew aramic until 400 years ago. |

peace my friend and nothing personal. and there is no war here. now you had your chance learn something new from an academic 48 years old hebrew-aramic man. or you keep on telling aramic is not hebrew as much as you want. just don't fight... here's my grandma sister (more or less), she is 92 and still teach hebrew if you don't know all the words already |
