Here is a different mod request that I will bet you havent heard before.....

I have an auctionsite. It is an Everysoft script that has taken me several months to put together since I am not a programmer. I installed many addons, made the HTML changes and now would like to link my users to this new forum.
I know that we are talking about variables but I dont know how to do it.

These variables will not be found in the eBlah script so I will have to my them.

And thats about as far as I have gone.
Which .pl will I have to make these changes to?
Where do I put these modifications in the .pl??

Any other ideas and suggestions will be appreciated....

TIA...Joey

How are you going to apply the script? What does the Mod do?

Any new Mod written must be able to replace the existing E-Blah code with new ones, with the new code not interfereing the functions of E-Blah.

I just need a link to the users auctions, his date of becoming a member at the auction, and an icon link (like ebay has stars)...

I am sure it wont interfere with the original script.

Joey,

It is not possible for Justin to guide you step by step in what to do. What he could suggest is a good guide book. If we find a particular string or variable that we dun understand, then we post specific questions to him.

We can't expect Justin to tell you:

"Step one, you should open XX file and edit XX variable. Step two ..."

If everyone starts doing that, Justin can't rest!

We have to do some self exploration from the direction Justin given. If we need mroe info, grab a book and readup. We learn along the way. This is how language pack writers and Moders function. We have tons of other things to look into other than the online business.

From your MOD request, it is going to be a major addition, involves alot of file changes, I feel. It is not possible for Justin to include every request into the BBS system.

I hope you can understand that.

Thanks man, exactly what I mean.

And also, some additions I don't add because it might make the speed of the forum a little slower.  We're still beating YaBB SP 2 in the time trials by about .15 seconds (on my system).  So I'm happy.    And that's with the current version.

Yeah, I added a timer, and it runs faster than YaBB ... always has, and I hope to keep it: always will.
