If there was a way to hide the board from members but show only guests, that would be great. Especially for the index page if you only allow users to have access if they are members. That way you can have the thread that tells the guests what to do without having to have all the members see it repeatedly.

hrmmm ... sounds okay to an extent.  But I think that it should be discussed in a page before the board.  But that is a good idea, just don't think it should be added.    If enough people want it though, I'll add it.

Good thought, a page that checks to see if someone is a member - if they are then they see the regular board, if they aren't or haven't logged in yet then they see the guest entrance page without the members being hit with redundant info that doesn't apply to them.
Is that kinda what you were talking about?

No, you make it on your site.    Regulars just bookmark the forums page, instead of clicking "Not a guest" or whatever.

What College_Amy suggested would be useful in scenario where we can create a "Public Access" boards and a "Members Access" boards

It will add on to the existing E-Blah feature by hiding the Public and Members board from one another to retain a cleaner feature.

But this means that members after login in will not be able to see the public boards unless there is an option for users to allow viewing of public boards.

It would be useful for a large forum to have this feature.
