Hello!

I've translated into spanish the new platinum version rc1, but when Justin launch the rc1b version, I know that there is more lines to translate, but I don't know which ones. Is there an easy method to know it? Is there a log or something?

Thanks.

Yes, is a little tricky to know wich lines are new. It takes a lot of time to review all files and compare with those that you have already translated.
Earlier versions of E-Blah, Justin add a file called 2.lng where new entries were added. I think that would be a good idea to add a log file (language_new.txt for example) where he specifies the new entries, something like:

version platinum rc1
--------------------------
Post.lng. Added line 25 and 26
MemberPanel.lng. Added line 110 and 111. Line 109 deleted

version platinum rc2
-------------------------
.....

(is an example)

Are you agree, Daniel?
Justin ?

I'll think about writing a script that will tell of the new lng counts.  Probably would take 10 minutes.

I donno if I will though, because then I was thinking ... all the old stuff would have to be loaded, and when you're doing that, things get messy.

That is true Justin. Have to take that into consideration too, especially when there has not been a monitoring system from the begining. A new implementation should provide more help and convenience, not more problem.

BTW, I notice that some language line do not go in running number sequence. like:

Quoted Text

$rtxt[38] = 'Login';
$rtxt[40] = 'View on Calendar';
$rtxt[41] = 'Error';
$rtxt[44] = 'or';

of Routines.lng

Is it because some language strings were remove in the previous version?

You could download a program that tells you the actual changes in two files (I know there are demos of such programs all over the net).

all translations are always a complete mess when doing an upgrade...

why not adding a feature into the admin panel to alter or create the language pack on the fly ... Yeah , i know that has got to be posted in the mod or feature section but it's also language relevant...

something that big could turn other BB into ashes for long time ...
