I just thought of another feature that might be of some use... would it be possible to prevent user-attached files from loading automatically?

For example, if I attached a picture, could a link be placed in the message body to download the file instead of inserting the photo automatically?

If this is possible, could you make it so files greater than a certain size do not load automatically while the rest of the files do?

Hrmm .... it would be possible, you could take out the following:

Find this in MessageDisplay.pl
Code
$message .= qq~$hr <center><img src="$uploadurl/$afile" border=0></center>~;

Replace with:
Code
#$message .= qq~$hr <center><img src="$uploadurl/$afile" border=0></center>~;

(added a comment "#")

This MOD must be out of date. Because I tried this using your latest version of Blah and it doesn't seem to work. On my forums people can up load video clips and they really don't like the fact they the vids open up automatically. So how can I make this work on the lastest version of this software?

Thanks

Eh?  Video clips aren't suppose to open up automatically.

That's how to take it out, though.

Hi Justin,

I took out that code like you said but it just seem to take out the pictures from being seen in the post. That wasn't what I was looking for so i changed it back,

This is the problem i am having. When someone to to view a video or movie file that was uploaded, when the video/movie link is click it goes to a page saying that the download will start in like 5 sec. and then bamn..it automataclly opens up my windows media player to play the file. i want to have it setup so when just video files are uploaded that a direct link to the video file is part of the message its self just like it shows at the very top of this thread.

hope you can help.

P.S. I also noticed that the counter for how many times a file has been downloaded isn't counting. any reason why this is so?

The PS:  chmod your two folders in the Prefs folder.

The other ... give me the code for showing videos in HTML, and I'll get it for you when I find time.

Justin,

I this link might help. http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/videoembed.html What I would like to see eblah do is play the video in the message body. So all a member would have to do is upload the video file and then click on their post see it play automatically in the message body of their post.

Naw it's not working. I would love to see the video play the same way you see a picture or what you type in the messagebody. Without having to click on any links.

I think it should still play.... because you can't post multiple files in one post. So each file that is in the same post is a reply to the 1st.

Well, if that thing up there doesn't work ... is the 'embed' code in the thing post?  It should work.  I did everything right.
